Good Evening,
*This is a reminder ... This particular opportunity for conservation-related service hours should be especially useful for any TR35 Boy Scout working on the Life Rank’s #4 Rank Requirement where it says: “While a Star Scout, participate in 6 hours of service through one or more projects approved by your Scoutmaster. At least 3 hours of this service must be conservation-related” (14th Ed.)

Volunteers Needed
The fourth River Sweep at Camp Tuscazoar will be Saturday, June 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. They hope to have a lot of participation from Camp Tuscazoar Foundation members, volunteers and Scouts.
JUNE 6, 2026
Litter in our waterways is a global problem and River Sweeps help address the problem locally. River Sweeps enable small groups to make a big impact on waterways in their community.
What is the River Sweep? We hike or are transported down to the banks of the Tuscarawas River and clear debris and invasive Garlic Mustard from our beautiful river.
We will clear the 1.5 miles from the Zoarville Station Bridge to Dover Dam, with guidance from scout leaders and Camp Tuscazoar Foundation staff.
Be prepared by wearing long pants, boots you can tuck your pants into, and work gloves. Ticks might be bad along the river so we will have tick spray for you.
It’s amazing the amount of trash and debris that gets carried down the river and our mission is to be good stewards of our beautiful Tuscarawas River.
After the trash is collected and transported back to camp, a hearty meal will be provided. Last year we saw a lot of families with their children and Scout troops participating in the River Sweep. Everyone enjoyed a day of working together and cleaning the banks of our beautiful Tuscarawas River.
Doughnuts will provided in the morning and the afternoon meal will be served at 2 p.m.
Registration is open. Just contact the camp at in...@tuscazoar.org.
