Saturday, 6/21. 5th WILD RIDE. Portsmouth. Starting at Shawnee State Park, riders will roll through the rugged Shawnee State Forest, Ohio’s hilliest terrain. This event features five paved, and two gravel, fully-supported routes: 16.5/30/40/60/100 flat or 35/60 very hilly miles. Entry fee includes an edible critter medal, commemorative pub glass, and tee shirt. Riders will have access to professional photos a week after the event. While not a race, those seeking a competitive edge can participate in three timed segments: The Storm, The Rattlesnake, and The Tick, with prizes for the top riders. Meet Connex friends, discuss the routes, and shop the swag. Entrants will receive information about an optional group start and other rider details in a pre-event email the day prior. Celebrating the life of Congressman Ralph Regula, champion of the Ohio & Erie Canalway National Heritage Area, with a bicycle ride and picnic in Stark County! Take a round trip adventure along the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail. Whether it is 8, 16, or 32 flat miles, enjoy a day out with friends and family. Tour the covered wooden bridges of Preble County on a fully-supported route of 10/28/39/51/62 flat to very hilly miles with a wide range of a 149-foot gain on the Family 10-miler, to 2,500 feet on the 100K loop! Saturday, 6/21. GREENE COUNTY NIGHT RIDE. Xenia. Join the Greene County Trail Sentinels for a free evening ride along the county’s bike trails! All rides leave from the Xenia Station bike hub at 7 p.m. and return to Xenia Station between 9:00 and 9:30 p.m. The average speed is about 10 mph. Rides are out-and-back routes, mostly on bike trails, 20 to 30 flat miles, with a stop midway for an optional ice cream break. No registration is required.
