Starting off a new month, are a few fine tours for your consideration:

Saturday, 8/2. BIKE TO THE BRIDGE. Bryan. A pledges-optional fundraiser benefiting individuals who have been affected by cancer. This annual ride offers multiple route options: 5/10/25/50 rolling miles. The 50-mile route crosses the iconic Lockport Covered Bridge and continues to Evansport and Oxbow Lake. The 25-mile ride also features the covered bridge. The 5- and 10-mile routes are shorter options that don’t reach the bridge, but all participants have the flexibility to choose their ride length. Saturday, 8/2. MORNING COFFEE RIDE. Massillon. Start the morning out right with a bike ride and a little java! A monthly free, easy-paced ride of 12 to 18 miles on flat trails and city streets, taking a break for coffee along the way. Great for beginners and avid riders who want a break from riding fast. Saturday, 8/2. GREENE COUNTY NIGHT RIDE. Xenia. Join the Greene County Trail Sentinels for a free evening ride along the county’s bike trails! All rides leave from the Xenia Station bike hub at 7 p.m. and return to Xenia Station between 9:00 and 9:30 p.m. The average speed is about 10 mph. Rides are out-and-back routes, mostly on bike trails, 20 to 30 flat miles, with a stop midway for an optional ice cream break. No registration is required. Sunday, 8/3. 4^th TOUR DE DARKE. Greenville. Spend Sunday morning in the saddle riding through the scenic countryside and quaint communities of Darke County. Choose from four casual, fun routes of 14/25/40/65 flat to rolling miles with rest stops offering snacks, and SAG support along the way. Tour past iconic Darke County locations such as Maid Rite, and Historic Bear’s Mill. All roads are marked and a portion will include Darke County Parks’ Tecumseh Trail. A reminder... OBF is seeking a replacement for long-time Calendar editor James Guilford who will end his service in that capacity at the end of this year. The volunteer position includes collecting cycling event information from hosts, organizing and editing listings into a consistent format, and publishing the guide in an online medium.
