We've a number of great cycling opportunities coming up this weekend, our "red letter" item(s) this week are the Mad Anthony River Rally and its associated Mad Fondo. Check 'em out!

Pedal along the broad Maumee River for miles, stopping for snacks at the beautiful Providence Dam Metropark and later in Napoleon to be greeted by the “Emperor”. Saturday, 8/13. MAD FONDO. Whitehouse. Want more than a traditional, delightful bicycle tour along the Maumee River? Try the Mad Fondo! This year Mad Anthony River Rally riders can choose to take part in the first gran fondo ever held in Northwest Ohio! This will be the same nearly-flat 32/64/100 – mile routes as the traditional tour but riders will wear a chip bib to log start and finish times. LATE ENTRY: Saturday, 8/13. ANGELINE INC. ROLL FOR DISABILITIES. Upper Sandusky. This is the inaugural bicycle tour through Killdeer Plains Wildlife Area. The ride features both a paved road route of 42 miles and a combination paved and gravel 46-mile route, both flat terrain. Killdeer’s wildlife area features 9,000 acres for hunting, fishing, bird watching and enjoyment of nature. The Roll highlights the area’s handicapped access and Angeline, Inc.’s employment and socialization efforts for those in the community with developmental “disABILITY”. Sunday, 8/14. 22nd CLEVELAND CLINIC AKRON GENERAL TOWPATH 50. Akron. Fundraiser for continued development, maintenance, activation of the Canalway National Heritage Area Towpath Trail and connectors. Participants will ride 50 flat miles on the Towpath raising a minimum of $50 in pledges. Premiums for those raising larger amounts.
