Saturday, 8/23. 15th BREAK THE CYCLE. Wooster & Millersburg. This event honors individuals on their recovery journey and pays tribute to lives lost to addiction. An individual can choose from among three routes: Holmes County Trail bike ride, walk the trail, or a 5K walk in downtown Wooster. The bike ride consists of 24/50/72-mile routes through the scenic countryside of Wayne and Holmes Counties. Rides range from flat to very hilly. This event is centered around the mission to reduce the stigma surrounding the issues of substance use disorder and addiction and to support the treatment/prevention services offered. OneEighty. Saturday, 8/23. 6th HERITAGE RIDE. Orangeville. A scenic bicycle ride through rural northern Trumbull County, Ohio, and western Mercer County, Pennsylvania. Start anytime you wish and do one or all four loops of 25 rolling to hilly miles each for a century. Water, snacks, hot lunch provided. A bicycle mechanic will be available along with sag support. Routes are marked. The flattest route has about a 500-foot elevation change with a total of about 3,300 feet for all four routes. Orangeville Methodist Church. This is a ride for all ages and abilities through the best of Cleveland’s expanding bike network. Saturday, 8/23. GREENE COUNTY MORNING MILERS. Xenia or Beavercreek. Join the Greene County Trail Sentinels for a free morning ride along the county’s bike trails! All rides leave from either the Xenia Station bike hub or from Beavercreek Community Park. Rides start at 9 a.m. and finish around 11 a.m. These rides are not for the beginner skill level and may include a short, off-trail portion with an average of 25-35 flat miles at 15-17 mph. Saturday, 8/23. EASTERSEALS REDWOOD HONOR RIDE. Harrison. A bicycle ride to honor the service and sacrifice of our nation’s veterans and active duty service members at beautiful Miami Whitewater Park. Entry includes a commemorative Honor Ribbon honoring a veteran or active duty service member and that hero’s name will be read aloud in an Honor Ribbon ceremony before the ride. Saturday – Sunday, 8/23 – 8/24. 51st ROSCOE RAMBLE BICYCLE RIDE. Canal Fulton & Kidron. The ride winds through many local Amish communities in the beautiful countryside of Stark, Wayne, Holmes, and Coshocton Counties. The 75-mile route begins in Canal Fulton, and the 55-mile route begins in Kidron. Routes follow country roads where possible, passing through beautiful vistas while tackling some challenging climbs. Saturday breakfast, lunch, and dinner; Sunday breakfast and lunch included. Hotel accommodations and camping options are offered in the package which also includes luggage transportation.
