The Earth is inside a very wide band of fast moving solar wind emanating from a giant coronal hole on our sun. This geomagnetic unrest may spell significant trouble for the nets today and on Monday for the special event net

As you can see from the WSA-ENWIL prediction chart, we may be several days to a week traversing the solar wind stream. Until Earth exits the solar wind, expect weakened and noisy conditions on most lower HF bands.

This points out the need for more stations to monitor and perhaps help with relays during the Eclipse event net on Monday -- all day long. There is nothing we can do about the Sun, but we can help the NCS operators under ostensibly difficult conditions.

If you have questions about net protocol, please review the procedures on the SATERN.org web site under the Training->Satern Net Etiquette menu choice.

Your help may be needed. Please try to monitor the net frequency as much as possible on Monday.

See you on the air.
