My new biography focuses the Civil War odyssey of Charles Anderson, a former slave owner who risked everything to help save the Union. Raised and commanded the OH 93rd Infantry at the Battle of Stones River, where he was wounded twice. Went on the become governor of Ohio. Did you know that he was the third major speaker at the Gettysburg consecration November 19, 1863? His speech was lost until recently, it is printed in the book for the first time along with his hand drawn map of the battlefield, also unpublished.
