In the recent Blue & Gray magazine issue, incorporated within the
context of a larger essay by Terry Winschel regarding the Chickasaw
Bayou battle, there is a very nice one page article titled "Defending
Their Honor at Chickasaw Bayou." The article discusses, using primary
source material, the failure of the attack and the role played by the
