I'm looking for leads, hints, or just downright sharing of primary material on the Ohio units at the Battle of Bayou Bourbeaux fought on November 3, 1863, in Louisiana. Yanks most often called this battle "Carrion Crow" or "Grand Coteau." I have been researching and writing for 10-11 years on this topic and thus the typical ORs, common unit histories, etc., have been gleaned extremely thoroughly. I have also dug deep into a lot of Ohio newspapers online (and always looking for more leads on them). Any leads on repositories, museums, individuals, who own/have copies of diaries, letters, and or wartime photographs would be extremely great. I am looking to give 100% credit, etc., for use if found to be useful in some manner. Here are the Ohio units present at the battle: 83rd Ohio Infantry, 96th Ohio Infantry, and the 17th Ohio Independent Battery. I appreciate your time and I am really glad I found this group discussion on Ohio in the Civil War! Thank you.
