to Ohio in the Civil War
I am seeking pictures of Co. K, 66th OVI, esp. any taken in the 1864-65 period, and in particular, any with names of the men pictured.

My g-grandfather Silas Dean(e) Taylor served in that unit at that time (on the March to the Sea) and was wounded at the Battle of Peach Tree Creek before Atlanta.
He went missing after this and was run as a deserter, but later it appears that he had been captured (possibly while on a personal “bumming” expedition?), and imprisoned at Madison, GA.
He later either escaped or was paroled and rejoined Federal forces near Washington, DC.

Due to the vagaries of life and the ephemeral nature of such things, we have no photos of him at all.

If anyone knows of any or finds any, we would be very grateful to find one.  Repros would be fine.

Thanks for any assistance.

Semper Fidelis,

F. J. Taylor
USMC (Ret.)
