Hi everyone! I haven't been able to "dive in" much to the group yet
due to some ongoing projects, but I would like to offer to host a
website/forum for the group. I lease a several servers and have some
that sit doing nothing most of the time, and it would warm the cockles
of my heart to roll this out for everyone and actually see one of my
servers put to good use.

I see the domain ohiogameincubator.com has already been registered (on
Jun. 18), and I hope it was by one of us.

If we have our own hosted domain, I can also host private project
sites where those working on them can collaborate and share code,
files, etc... We can setup vanity emails, have an event calendar,
recruiting videos, etc...

I can get something up and running in a matter of hours in most cases,
so if this sounds doable, let me know.

Yes! We totally need to do this. Thanks Aaron.

If you'd like to tackle this, go ahead and setup what you were
thinking on your hardware and we'll take a look. If we think it will
work, I'm sure we can hook up one of our domains to the site.
Thanks,
Devin

I'm for a website/forum too. We really need some more
powerful tools than what Google Groups provides.
Embedded images and video would be nice for example.
Especially for artists working on concept art. Although,
one thing I've been agreeing with Ian Schreiber through
e-mail is that we need to consolidate some of what we
got. I'm worried we'll spread ourselves out too thin if we
have too many groups.

There needs to be a balance
for sure. I think that a single, fully-functional website
would be great for the future. In the mean time, let's get
as many people who are excited for video games on
here as we can! If we do get a new website, just make
sure we don't move around too much.

BTW Devin, do you know if we have the
ohiogameincubator.com domain?

I agree with this approach. We have a bunch of domains. I agree, if
we move it will be a one-time move, so we have to be certain that
where we are moving to has what we need. That's why i advocate that
anyone who wants to set something up, just set up the shell and we'll
take a look to make sure it meets whatever future needs we can imagine
for the foreseeable future. If we turn on a domain, we can just use
that domain as the "home" in case the content engine changes, but
moving the content over there at this point would be tough so I'd
really prefer not to have to move it again after that.

I totally agree with not wanting to move things around. One of the
main advantages of moving to a dedicated website/server now is there
will be a ton of room to grow.

I'm throwing some stuff up on one of my testing servers... just shells
of forums, blogs... These are the DEFAULT installations. I'm having
internet issues at home at the moment and haven't been able to dive in
and customize them much.

www.adtss.com

I have protected the whole site, and it can be accessed with the
following credentials:

username: ogitester
password: MwLerL0KQqWH

Nothing in the domain root yet, just a /forum and /blog, and as I
said, they are the default installs of each. Hopefully tomorrow I'll
have internet long enough to setup one of the project-tracking
applications and a few other useful goodies.

If you have questions or input, don't hesitate to contact me.

Apparently, Google Groups doesn't handle www.*.* links properly...
this one should work:

I received an Internal Server Error. Server may be down for now.
I will check again later.

Yeah I was trying out a new beta CMS I've never used before and broke
it last night. I replaced it with a Drupal install this morning.
Literally no content or customization yet. Forum works, sign up for an
account and I'll promote to admin so you can play around with the
forum features. Same for blog.

Direct links that will work even if I change the CMS:
