Hi Odysseas,

I was thinking we could use the pre-production OpenEMPI instance that is setup for RHEA to test with for the HIMMS planning session. It already has our RHEA config setup so it seems it should be easy. Is it just a matter of clicking start PIX/PDQ server in the config? If so what are the endpoint details that I can send some PIX queries to? Do we need to do any other setup?

Thanks,
Ryan

Hi Ryan,

Yes, it should be fine to use the existing OpenEMPI. Once you start the server, you need to select Start PIX/PDQ service from the administrative
console and that will start the listener. The configuration of the port for the PIX HL7 version 2 interface is specified in the PixManagerConnections.xml
file. Let me know if you run into any difficulties.

Best regards,
Odysseas

Hi Odysseas,

In OpenEMPI which of the namespace identifier or the universal identifier correlates to the assigning authority OID in a PIX message?

Ryan,

In HL7v2 messaging the namespace identifier by itself, the combination of universal identifier and universal identifier type or all three together identify
and assigning authority. In HL7v3 it is the universal identifier that does the same. OpenEMPI has adopted the HL7/IHE convention for identifying identifier
assigning authorities.
