Hello,

Is there a feature in OPAL where each patient can create his/her own account with username/password and be able to add (and view)  information to his/her own medical record?

If there is not, can this feature be easily added by developing a plug-in?

Thanks for your help.

Hi there !

It's not a feature that exists pre-built, however it shouldn't be too hard to do.

For account creation, something like https://django-registration.readthedocs.io/en/3.0.1/ should get you most of the way - I'd treat that as a standard Django web application feature, the only medical specific / opal things you'd want to do would be to create a patient and link them as a hook at the 'account setup complete' stage.

In the first instance, I would probably add a simple model linking Patient to a User, then override the login view so that once you logged in, if you are not a superuser the application redirects you to the patient you are linked to.

HTH!

David
