Dear OPAL members,

 

I, together with a smart programmer Tom Blauwendraat,  have created MediPrepare. Being a medical consultant for 40 years I became frustrated by the lack of information despite tons of medical data hidden in expensive EHRs.

Our goals are 1. Empower patients, 2. Create tools to help patients to present their 'Case' to doctors in a format doctors learn during their training (medical history taking), 3. Strengthen the patient-doctor-dyade, 4. Allow patients to take charge of their own 'professionalised' health care record, which follows their journey of live, 5. Present always their medical context, and thus avoiding 80/20 medicine - tunnel vision -, failed diagnoses, wrong medications, wrong therapies, medical mishaps (in USA 3rd cause of death), 6. Decreasing costs.

Our vision is: To present medical context 24x7, at all locations, in all languages, for all people, for each patient-doctor/nurse encounter in the world, which are over 20 billion encounters a year; To  help doctors with the task of collecting medical history, which costs minimum of 5 minutes, maximum of 75 minutes. On average doctors - should - spend over 6 years of their professional life on this task, seeing 150.000 patients during their life with taking medical history of at least 5 minutes.
