Just tried uploading a chart from my Extreme Charts for discussion and
it worked. Let's see how this goes for next week play(s).
And if anyone wants me to post another stock let me know.
Have a good weekend, Cori

Cori,

That's a great idea to post charts on the ohana-traders site! Yes, you did a good job with that chart pasting into Word. I was able to see it just fine. So you like to play the QQQQ's eh? Did you take a course on it also from Darlene? Anyway, I think posting charts with different indicators and then discussing it, is a great way to spur Technical Analysis (TA) education in the group. One thing I've learned; is that TA is key and can play a bigger role in a securitie's behavior than fundamentals.

Question: Why do you like to use both 18-day and 40-day moving averages? I like simple moving averages also, but I usually just use a 20 or 30 day ma. Some people like to use a short one 20 or 30 day, combine with a long one, 200-day.

I like to use candles and also Bolinger Bands with them. I also like Stochastics and MACD together.

The tech stocks took a hit today; I was too tech-bulish heavy so I took a hit today. I was going to put in a bearish play but I couldn't do it in time since I had to drop off my daughter to school and get to work. By the time I got to work, it was too late, the market already made it's big move down and I just chilled.

My reading of the chart: Although the QQQQ is still above it's 18 and 40 day moving averages, there is big bearish candle for today.  Also Stochastics are in the oversold area (above 75) and just starting to trend downward, but hasn't passed below the 75 mark yet. Volume was also on the lighter side today. Conclusion: my limited take, I would not do a bull play on it; although it has had positive momentum lately. Being more conservative lately, I would wait for another day confirmation, if it trends down again and passes below the 40 day ma (I like to use the 30 day ma) and Stochastics continue downward below 75, then I may do a Bear play on it.
