Your input is IMPORTANT. Tune in: KPFT Radio, 90.1fm: "Open Journal" Nov 16; Nov 20 and Nov 27, 2012.  From 9 to 10AM

Nov 15, 2012

Fellow human-rights advocates, community organizers and environmentalists:

Our concerns for jobs, educational opportunity, healthcare, human rights, civil rights and for the  environment can only be expressed through effective media access and organizing.

You will have a chance to expand your access to an independent, listener-based radio

Station, that is, KPFT (Pacifica) Radio, located at 90.1fm on your radio dial.

Your participation in the individual, interactive “Open Journal” programs is VERY IMPORTANT.  Starting tomorrow on Nov 16, 2012 at 9:00AM, and continuing though-out the next two weeks, you will have a chance to call in your questions, concerns, and ideas to

the KPFT-LSB  (Local Station Board) candidates while they discuss their proposals on the air.  Their statements have already been posted on the KPFT.org and Pacifica.org websites.

I,  MariaElena Castellanos, am a candidate with a vision and a plan for the KPFT-LSB.  More importantly, I am running as a member of a multi-racial team of LSB candidates.   Our team’s vision, plan and proposals require your input.  You can find the websites for our youtube videos and specific times for our individual “Open Journal” radio programs (which begin on Nov 16, 2012 at 9:00 a.m.) in the attached:  “KPFT_81_candidates…LSB.…Nov15.”

I, along with other candidates for the LSB (Local Station Board) of KPFT, are making a concerted effort to save KPFT by developing a vision and a plan to reach larger, more diverse, younger radio audiences.  KPFT is in dire straits.  It’s mission and finances are “on the ropes.”  Its membership is shrinking.

We need your #1 vote AND your input to turn around KPFT.  We can save its “mission”  to be a radio for peace by expanding its “vision” of how to be a radio for justice.

Please tune in, take part, and then cast an informed vote for the KPFT-Local-Station-Board candidates of your choice.

Thank you.

s/MariaElena Castellanos
