Hi everyone,
Greetings from Costa Rica.
We are at the peak of rainy season here in San Jose, but the sun peeked out for a few hours and warmed things up last Tuesday. During that time we had a virtual butterfly and moth shower with various species zooming over the roof and down the hill...and then the rains returned. Just wanted to share this cool one that stopped by the garden for a few minutes. I believe it's known as a Sword-tailed Doctor (Rhetus arcius), a tropical metalmark. It may not be as flashy as some of the others, but it's still a classy and welcome visitor. Other than that it's been too rainy and overcast for much lep activity except for some little satyrs that come by to sample the bananas.
Hope you all are enjoying the fall weather and colors in Ohio.
