In Dec. went to Ecuador on a birding trip but found some marvelous
butterflies.  I have identified over 20 but I'm stuck on 5 of them.
Attached are 2.  If anyone has any thoughts!

Sincerely, Sally Isacco

Sally,

The first (the pierid) is Perrhybris lorena.  The second is a Doxocopa.  Back in a sec.

Sally,

The second is Doxocopa pavon.  I've encountered this frequently in Mexico and thought that was this species -- I just had to check that the species was found that far south.  Turns out the Type Locality is in Ecuador!
