BACKGROUND ON OGUTA AMESHI TRADITION PEACE AND SECURITY SUMMIT 2023 (AGBATANI)
Around Ameshi storms, floods and wildfires from oil bunker are intensifying. Air and Waters pollution sadly affects the health of over 80% generality of Ameshi indigenes and citizens, and unpredictable activities of the traditional manipulators and the youths causes untold damage to Oguta Ameshi lake, homes, and livelihoods too. But while the impacts of the above mentioned are devastating, there have been no verifiable communal leadership advances in tackling it leading to cleaner air, creating good jobs, restoring nature and at the same time unleashing economic growth. Despite all advantageous opportunities, T-Stool leaders are not acting fast enough. To avert this crisis, Ameshi T-Stool leaders need to join forces urgently. The 2024 ‘Agbatani’ Change Conference, more commonly referred to as ‘Owu-Agbatani’, will soon be held in Oguta Ameshi. It will take place under the traditional leaderships of ‘Oseres of Ugwunta and Ugwukwu’ with many ‘agabanta’ heads, ‘oshijis’ and the ’nze’representatives expected to attend.
The Agbatani conference has been held annually since the migration of Oguta Ameshi in 1504. It is used by Ancestors to agree on traditional policies to limit manipulation and deviance rises and adapt to impacts associated with cultural change. The commitment to aim for O-O is important because every fraction of a degree of manipulation results in the tragedy of many more lives lost, livelihoods damaged and wider disunity. Under the Agbatani Agreement, both Echina and members committed to bring forward traditional plans setting out how much they would reduce traditional manipulations – this should be known as Traditionally Determined Contributions, or ‘TDCs’. They agreed that every year they would come back with an updated plan that would reflect Ameshi traditional and cultural highest possible ambition at that time.
To tackle the traditional manipulation crisis and now a peace cost-of-living crisis, we need to urgently remake Ameshi O-O system. How can Ameshi tradocratize, cultural T-Stool and title system by 2030 as the Ameshi We want? How can we ensure a renewable energy system doesn’t replicate the extractive and colonial systems embedded in the fossil fuel energy system? What policies are needed and what are the biggest challenges we must overcome?
As indicated by Ameshi indigenes during the 2022 December Civic Center meeting as part of unity project, our Oguta Ameshi community is sending a distress signal.
The Agbatani Peace and Security Summit is designed to explore at all levels of the conversations on traditional Peace and Security with indigenes, leaders and stakeholders in tradition, academia, and institutions.
The Agbatani Peace and Security Summit further seeks to generate new ideas and innovation for collective action to build solutions to traditional issues towards working together for a better Oguta Ameshi whiles ensuring an increased development and advancement of Peace and Security. It is time to work together and create a better, more sustainable future for all in Oguta Ameshi.
Agbatani Peace and Security Summit has been a traditional system for Ideas, Innovators, Influencers, Investors, and Implementers finding practical solutions to traditional challenges enhancing conflict prevention and strengthening the T-tool system. Hopefully, all indigenes as participants all benefit greatly from the event insights and shared experiences and projects on how every single person can contribute to a youth development and the TDC’s towards Ameshi Peace and security.
We look forward to seeing all qualified Ameshi youth at the Agbatani event. Thank you and kind regards. From all of us at the Oguta_Unite Team.
