An overview of Public Procurement Process in Nigeria

1. Procurement Planning , (Including and beginning with the annual
formulation of budget by the Executive, the Authorization by the
National assembly and the Assent/Approval by the President to produce
an appropriation Act )
2. Procurement Implementation, (including the statutory Risk
Management audit of the contract Proceedings and the issuance of No
Objection Certificate for or to award of contracts )
3. Monitoring and Evaluation while the implementation is in
progress.
4. Aftercare (Payment, records keeping etc.)
5. Bi -annual ,Comprehensive and statutory Procurement Audit conducted
by the Bureau of Public Procurement for submission to the National
assembly. (Preferably within 3months of project completion).
