The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore is one of the largest and oldest educational boards in Pakistan. It conducts exams for matriculation (10th class) and intermediate (11th and 12th class) students in Lahore and its affiliated districts, namely Okara, Kasur, Sheikhupura and Nankana Sahib.
In 2015, BISE Lahore conducted the matric exams in March and announced the results in July. The matric result 2015 of Lahore board was announced on July 25, 2015. According to the official statistics, a total of 2,12,742 candidates appeared in the exams, out of which 1,50,944 passed with a passing percentage of 70.97%. The overall position holders were announced by the board chairman on July 24, 2015.
The first position was shared by two students, Muhammad Sarmad Waqar Hashmi of Divisional Public School Model Town and Nashka Zulfiqar of Fauji Foundation Model High School for Girls Sangla Hill. Both of them secured 1087 marks out of 1100. The second position was also shared by two students, Muhammad Abdullah of Government Central Model High School Lower Mall and Arooj Arshad of Jinnah Grammar Secondary School for Girls Kasur. Both of them obtained 1086 marks. The third position was secured by Syed Momin Ali and Hussnain Mushtaq, both from Divisional Public School Model Town. They got 1085 marks each.
The board also announced the position holders in different groups and categories. In science group (boys), Muhammad Sarmad Waqar Hashmi got the first position, Muhammad Abdullah got the second position and Syed Momin Ali got the third position. In science group (girls), Nashka Zulfiqar got the first position, Arooj Arshad got the second position and Maham Shafiq of Divisional Public School Model Town got the third position.
In humanities group (boys), Muhammad Afzal of Allama Iqbal Public High School Kasur got the first position with 1020 marks, Muhammad Bilal of Government High School Bhai Pheru got the second position with 1016 marks and Muhammad Usman Ali of Government High School Raiwind got the third position with 1009 marks. In humanities group (girls), Ayesha Khalid of Government Girls High School Mustafabad got the first position with 1035 marks, Ayesha Aslam of Government Girls High School Manga Mandi got the second position with 1028 marks and Maryam Shabbir of Government Girls High School Baddoki Kalan got the third position with 1023 marks.
The board also awarded medals, certificates and cash prizes to the position holders in a ceremony held on July 25, 2015. The chief guest of the ceremony was Punjab Education Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan. He congratulated the students, teachers and parents for their achievements and appreciated the efforts of BISE Lahore for conducting fair and transparent exams.
