We're an Enginnering corporation based in Paris, and we're currently evaluating several FEA codes in order to discren wich ones agrees the most with our applications.
I wanted to know whether there were any brochures on OpenGeosys capabilities, could anyone please provide me with any data, links , pdfs in this regard ?
Thank you in advance

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

you find information on OpenGeoSys5 at http://www.opengeosys.org/ and the
overview publication Kolditz et al. (2012).

Probably, the books section (https://docs.opengeosys.org/books) is the most
informative for you.

More specific details on individual processes and the current development
version of OpenGeoSys6 are given on docs.opengeosys.org.

Best,
Marc

For OpenGeosys 5:
There are
1. A PDF about input syntax: https://svn.ufz.de/ogs/browser/trunk/manual/manual.pdf
2. GUI tool developed by Herbert Kurz at BGR: https://teambeam.bgr.de/my/drive#!folder=68;

Thank You everyone for your answers. I have more specific questions about different modeling techniques that I'm listing below . i'll be interested in any clue, tip or link anyone could provide. thank you all in advance.

- Plasticity : what are the predefiened behaviour laws already included in OpenGeosys ? any laws for hydro-geological applications ?
- creep : Since no benchmark illustrates the use of creep , what are creep evolution laws included ?
- hydraulic : Saturated , unsaturated flows ? Multi-phase ?
- parralel calculation: is it supported ? any related documentation ?
- Domain decomposition : parameters , settings ?

If you find the functionalities that you want are in OGS6, please use OGS6. The development and maintaining of OGS5 are no longer  available. The remaining functionalities of OGS5 over OGS6 will be added to OGS6 soon or later.

Hi,

from one of my talks I've attached a pdf with some references on
hydromechanical (incl. two-phase flow) models, models including
plasticity and creep. If you look for papers authored by Wenqing Wang
and Olaf Kolditz you'll also find material related to HPC. As Marc and
Wenqing pointed out already, most of those references relate to OGS-5
and we're currently transitioning to the new version (see the link
provided by Marc).

Also have a look at this tutorial series which explain how to use OGS in
detail (the latest tutorial is the first one on OGS-6):

Dear Thomas Nagel ,
I am very grateful for your reply .
I have few other questions and it would be nice if you could answer any of them :
- What damage evolution laws are already coded ? (OG5 or OG6)
- Any documentation retlated to the convergence control methods (residuals ...)?
- Any Documentation with regard to error estimation in parallel computation ?

thank you in advance for any answer or tip given .

best regards

Dear Wenqing Wang ,
Thank you for ypur answers . I think OG5 suits enough our applications for the moment . neverthless the new functonalities in OG6 , for instance  the parallelization part, are very intersting. In this regard , I would like to know if there's any documentation related to convergence control methods and error estimation in parallel calculations ?
thank you in advance for your answers.
Yours kindly
