The Alloy FCR200SC.20 media converter belongs to the FCR200 Series of Fast Ethernet Media Converters and offers versatile installation options. You can use it as a standalone device or install it in an Alloy DCR12 Series 12-slot Media Converter Chassis.

The Alloy FCR200SC.20 media converter is equipped with dual 100Base-TX auto-sensing 10/100Mbps RJ-45 and 100Base-FX SC terminated single-mode ports utilising the 1300nm wavelength (1550nm models also available). It is capable of supporting fiber cable connections of up to 20 km. Thus making it an excellent choice for extending network connectivity over long distances. The Alloy FCR200SC.20 is an ideal solution for UTP/STP copper to Fast Ethernet single-mode fiber media conversion tasks.

The FCR200 Series Converters have a feature called Link Fault Passthrough (LFP) that allows them to monitor both fiber and copper RX ports for signal loss. In the event of signal loss on one port, the Converter will automatically disable the TX signal to the other port, indicating the link fault status. This feature is available in both Far-end-Fault (FEF) and Forced Modes (FM).

FEF mode stops the transmission of link pulse to the LFP-capable Converter on the other end of the cable, thus preventing the loss of data transmitted over an invalid link. Combining FM and FEF LFP functions enhances troubleshooting and network security capabilities, as the end devices and the managed switch connected to the FCR200 Series Converter can be notified of a loss of fiber link and can take appropriate actions.

With LFP (Link Fault Propagation) support it allows the administrator to easily diagnose link faults on their network. If the Copper or Fibre link fails, the converter forces the link status of the connecting device to also fail.Two methods of LFP are supported inclduing FEF (Far End Fault) and Forced Mode.

The POE3000 Series of media converters are designed for applications where the supply of power to attached Ethernet devices needs to be via the network connection, rather than by a power cord. Typical devices that use this method of powering are VoIP Phones, Wireless Access points and IP based Cameras. The POE3000 Series media converters are fully compliant to the IEEE 802.3at standard.

The converters support all relevant 802.3at standards and support features such as signature sensing and power monitoring features compliant with the IEEE 802.3at standard, including, PD discovery, classification, current limiting and other necessary functions. It also supports high levels of safety support with short circuit protection and power-out auto-detection to the PD.
