Dear colleagues,

 

We have extended our deadline for your submissions of proposals for ICBO 2022 Workshops and Tutorials from March 15 to March 22:

In addition, we are excited to announce the collaboration between ICBO 2022 and the 4th U.S. Semantic Technologies Symposium (US2TS), and together we are having the event of  “The Michigan Week of Ontology and Semantic Web”.

The two events ICBO-2022 (September 25 Sunday - 28) and US2TS (September 29 to Oct 1 Saturday) will be held back-to-back for a whole week. The US2TS (https://us2ts.org/) will be held at Easy Lansing, MI, from September 29 to Oct 1 Saturday. Also note that it is convenient to travel between Ann Arbor (where ICBO will be held) and Easy Lansing, and it takes about one hour and 15 minutes of driving between the two cities. Specific activities will be arranged for the collaborative Michigan Week. Stay tuned for more information later …

This is the first call for submissions for the 13th International Conference on Biomedical Ontology (ICBO 2022), to be held on September 25-28, 2022 (Sunday-Wednesday), at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA. This meeting will be a hybrid meeting that includes both in-person and virtual participation.

Below is our call-for-submission information (please pay attention to the submission deadlines):   

 

Conference Dates:

·         September 25-28, 2022 (Sunday-Wednesday)

Call for Workshops and Tutorials:

·         Proposals (1-2 pages) due March 15 (NOW extended to: March 22) , 2022, notification April 15, 2022.

·         Workshops: Half or Full day workshops

·         Specifically looking for a half-day NLP workshop

·         Specifically looking for a half-day machine learning workshop

·         Specifically looking for a half-day Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) workshop

·         Other topics are welcome

·         Tutorials: Half or Full day tutorials

·         Software Demos: 15-30 minute demos, due June 15th

·         Note: Workshops, Tutorials, and Demos can be held in a hybrid or virtual format.

 

Call for ICBO Conference Papers and Abstracts:

·         Full length papers (6-10 pages) due May 13th, notification June 1.

·         Short papers up to 5 pages, due May 13th, notification June 1.

·         Poster Abstracts: 1 page extended abstract format, with limited references, due June 17th, notification July 1.

Journal of Biomedical Semantics ICBO Thematic Series Option

Submission date: April 15th
In partnership with the Journal of Biomedical Semantics, papers submitted to the ICBO thematic series at the Journal of Biomedical Semantics will be published immediately after acceptance and presented in the main ICBO conference following acceptance. For this track, we suggest submission by the April 15th at the latest for full consideration for ICBO 2022. Articles should be submitted directly to the Journal of Biomedical Semantics following the journal submission guidelines. See the guidelines for submission details.
Note: You will need to choose the ICBO thematic series during the submission process.

 

Submission Format:

Workshop, abstract, and paper submissions should be formatted according to the CEUR-Template-2col.docx template (download file).
Submissions to the Journal of Biomedical Semantics should follow their guidelines.
