Hi, I am using OggSync 4.19 and my system is set to start OggSync on
boot-up. I use Thunderbird as my default mail system.

I keep getting this message from Outlook shortly after startup that I
either have no default email client or the current mail client cannot
fulfill the messaging request, and I should set Outlook as the default
mail client.

Outlook is manually started on my system after system startup.

Why am I getting this message (I am very confident that it isa result
of OggSync startup)? What messaging is going on that is not
completing?

Thanks,
Gene

OggSync starts up Outlook core services when it starts up (by asking for events and what not).  You need to check the checkbox that says "do not check if Outlook is the default mail program" in Outlook.  If you can't find it I can try to google it's location for you.

Hi Shawn,
Thank you for the reply.
I already have the check box UNCHECKED.
The box I am speaking about is:
Tools|Options|Other|General|"Make Outlook ....
I am using Office 2007

So, I suspect it may be some other issue. Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Gene

Can you try to disable the "start at windows startup" checkbox in OggSync and reboot to see if the issue goes away?

The only thing OggSync looks at is your calendar and contacts, and it doesn't send emails, so not exactly sure where that error is coming from.

Hi Shawn,

I did as you suggested and the error does NOT occur on reboot.

But, when I run OggSync, I get the Outlook error message. By the way,
I get the error message whether or not Outlook is running when I start
OggSync. If I shut down OggSync and retart it, the message appears as
well.

So you get the error if you start Outlook without OggSync running?

The reason you get it when you start OggSync is that OggSync will start the core Outlook services (but not the GUI) so that it can access the calendar and contacts.
