Synching events with multiple categories

I am using Oggsync 4.20. I have more than 1 calendar in Outlook 2007.
I have events that are classified in more than 1 category in Outlook.
I have tried various combinations of synching with Oggsync, and I am
unable to have the events appear in multiple corresponding categories
in Google Calendar. How do I achieve this?

I have found that sometimes Oggsync will create a google Calendar when
there is not one for a corresponding Outlook event , but at other
times I need to create the Google Calendar manually. What are the
conditions where the Google Calendar not be created?

Also, if I have e.g. 2 Outlook categories for an event, the event will
be posted in 1 of the Google Calendars. What is the basis for choosing
1 category?

For technical (sync logic) reasons, we cannot do what you propose.

OggSync uses the first match in the category list to calendar.  So an event with category settings of:  "work, personal"  will match on calendar work first, and "personal, work" will match "personal" first.

In the case where one of the calendars match, it will use that.  In the case where no categories match a calendar, then OggSync will ask if you want to create the matching Google calendar.

Hope that helps.

I should also add, that once the initial sync has occurred, OggSync will not look at the categories unless you have the option checked to "change calendars by changing categories" set.

Also you can move events between calendars on Google if it went into a calendar you don't like.

I assume you mean that Outlook categories are not considered unless
you have checked "Enable Change Category Moves Event to New Google
Calendar"?

This emphasizes an issue I have with your configuration panels,
documentation, etc.: they are confusing, and could be interpreted in
different ways. For example, what does "New" mean in 'New Google
Calendar'?
Thanks,

After the first sync, they are ignored unless you have that checkmark set, correct.

New means that OggSync will create a brand new calendar for a category that it doesn't match (vs. matching and using an existing calendar).
