Problems with notifications

I'm running version 4.14 of OggSync, and I am syncing an outlook
calendar with my google calendar, and I want to get 20 minute SMS
notifications from Google for everything that Oggsync puts there from
an outlook calendar.

I have set the default notication for the google calendar to be 20
minute SMS, expecting that anything in the outlook calendar that
didn't have a reminder would pick up that default when Ogg added it to
the google calendar, but that doesn't seem to be what is happening.

For events that already have a notification in Outlook, I get a
notifcation in google set to "pop up" (this seems reasonable), and for
events that don't have a notifcation set, I get no notification in
google either.

I'm not sure if my expected behavior was wrong, or if my expectations
were right and something isn't working.

Thoughts?

This is on our requested feature list.  Right now OggSync uses the notification that your device/outlook assigns (the pop-up notification).  The requested feature is to use the default notifications as they are defined on google when creating a new event in PC Outlook or on your mobile device.

Thanks for +1 that feature request I've added a vote for that.

Thanks,

- Shawn

Shawn:

Thanks for the reply - I just want to make sure that my vote is
counted correctly. You write "The requested feature is to use the
default notifications as they are
defined on google when creating a new event in PC Outlook or on your
mobile device. "

I think I'm requesting the backwards feature to what you described. I
want the option of either using the default google notification when
an event is created in google from Outlook, or to specify what sort of
notification to use (i.e. Have another box "Force [drop down box for
type] [minutes] before as the notification".

Basically, for any event created from my work Outlook calendar, I want
a 20 minute SMS notification from google, no matter what sort of
notification was requesteded in Outlook when the event was created
there.

+1 for SMS notification defaults for Outlook->Google. This would
really make my day!

I would also like to see sms support in Oggsync. When is this feature
expected to appear?
