"A Postdoctoral Associate position is immediately available for highly ambitious, independent and motivated candidates to work in the University of Florida Biomedical Informatics program with an interdisciplinary research team.
Barriers to linking, integrating, and efficiently exploiting health information impede the development of precision health. For example, different electronic health record (EHR) systems independently define structural data formats and encoding. Independent and heterogeneous data definitions pose challenges to interoperability of the data, e.g. merging data from different EHRs. Therefore, the effort required to integrate and link data is substantial.
These challenges can be overcome by semantic interoperability via an ontology-driven data infrastructure. To accomplish semantic interoperability, the candidate will work with a group of experts in ontology, semantic web, data science, and biomedical informatics in general to harmonize."
