Note: The full version of Minitab is only available for Windows. Visit -software/minitab-2/ for more information. Minitab Express is available for Mac. Visit -software/minitab-express-for-mac-os/ for more information.
R and RStudio are open source and free to download. To download R, visit -project.org/ and select the version appropriate for your operating system. Versions for Linux, Mac and Windows are available. To download RStudio, visit and select the free RStudio Desktop. Again download the version appropriate for your operating system. Support and training for R and RStudio is available through the UVA Library StatLab.

Faculty, staff and students at the University of Virginia may access Stata through public computers with the UVA software build on them or via the UVA Hive. The University only supports 50 concurrent users. These apply to both computer labs AND The Hive usage. Users trying to access Stata may experience waiting periods for a license to open. Minitab is a comprehensive statistical software application. The Loyola license has changed to a named user license. Students and faculty who need to use the software must be added as named users to access the application. To request a named user account, email ITSServ...@luc.edu.
Named users can access Minitab via the online application - app.minitab.com - or they can download the application from the app.minitab.com site to a Windows machine (a personal computer or an LUC office desktop computer). The web app only works with Chrome, Edge, or Safari browsers. Named users must create a Minitab account using their Loyola email address and a password of their own creation.
Self-service support is available through the Help button in the top menu bar of the application. Choose the Getting Started option. That will open the online documentation. You can also download documentation.
