Well it worked great for about 10 days.

In the past couple of days OFTD stopped working. After an unusually
long time (5+ minutes) I get the message that the script could not
complete and

"AppleScript reported the following error:Error creating task in TD"

What I know:
-I'm running version b26
-I uninstalled and deleted prefs/OFTD
-I deleted all tasks from my Toodeledo account
-I upgraded my TD to the paid version, in the event that was causing
the problem
-I have not recently added any tasks via AppleMail that contain
unusually long messages

The problem persists.

What I don't know:
-more than is worth listing here

Any Ideas?

It is likely something about one of the tasks - if we can track down
the cause hopefully I can test for it in the sync.

You could do one or both of the following.

Open /Applications/Utilities/Console.app, select system.log in the log
list, and type OFTD in the filter/find box, then run the sync and try
and determine which task its failing on.

You could create a simplified perspective to sync, then gradually add
in your tasks until you get the error (anyone remember doing this with
startup items in sys 8/9...)

The faster but more technical way to do it would be to run the sync
script in Script Debugger, but I'm guessing that most of you don't
have that program.

Where do we get the debugger?

Its commercial software with a 20 day trial. I've never investigated
whether they have debugging for applescript in xcode now

http://www.latenightsw.com/sd4/index.html

If you know about debugging, it should be easy to figure out.

If anyone having troubles knows how to help with this, have at it -
but I understand many/most of you are just users, which is why I
suggest the other methods...

As I suspected, the problem appears to be on my end. I went back
through my recently added tasks and deleted one that had an attached
email. This email did not appear unusually long, nor did I notice any
strange characters in it. Nonetheless, once it was gone OFTD resumed
its syncing just fine.

So...is it advisable to avoid using the OF feature of importing
directly from Apple Mail (which I'd hate to give up)? Or is there some
rule of thumb we can look out for when importing mail messages, to
avoid the OFTD script from getting jammed up?

Again Preston, thanks for your work on this and your fast responses.
It's much appreciated.

Best,
G.

If there is a way you can send me off-list the offending email, I can
look at it...

I haven't run into the issue myself. But I am thinking of some way to
tell OFTD to not sync notes of certain types, as the roundtrip through
Toodledo kills any rich text formatting...
