WE ARE RECRUITING NEW MEMBERS
Oakland Food Policy Council invites you to roll up your sleeves and join us in creating a transformed food system. We are currently seeking new members who have a strong background in community organizing and are ready to apply bold, innovative strategies for rethinking Oakland's food system. Seats open include General Member (3-year term); Community Representative (1 year term); Youth Member (1 year term; ages 18-25yrs). Application deadline is August 4th 2014.
THE HEART OF FOOD: A WORKSHOP
We also invite you to "The Heart of Food," a day of artful exploration of food justice in Oakland. Local arts organization, Rooted in Community, will lead us through a creative workshop using entertaining activities, theater and discussion to explore how we can reclaim our collective power through food. The event will be held August 9th 2014, 10 AM - 4 PM at 975 85th Ave, Oakland, CA 94621 (lunch provided).
