PETITION TO RESTORE FAITH IN OUR GOVERNMENT

Polling conducted in our country has revealed that our Congress has
the lowest popularity rating ever seen.  Mistrust in our government
has resulted in much of the electorate refusing to participate in the
processes of our government.  If this trend continues We the People
will destroy the foundations of our government.  We the People have
abdicated our duty to act as citizens.  We have failed to turn out at
the polls to vote, we have failed in communicating with our elected
representatives in order to influence and direct our representatives.
We have allowed the 1% to monopolize communications with our
government, and then we complain that it is unresponsive to our
wishes.
THEREFORE, We the People demand that all members of Congress, the
President and the Supreme Court immediately disclose all of their
business dealings in the stock market and real estate.  Much of the
country believes that Congress is “insider trading”.  Congress is
aware of that, and several representatives have introduced legislation
to prevent such trading.  This is a smoke screen by Congress.
Sufficient legislation is currently on the books to prosecute those
members of Congress who violate insider trading laws.
We the People demand that the President immediately issue an
Executive Order directing the Securities and Exchange Commission to
open an investigation into the stock trading of Representative John
Boehner, Representative Nancy Pelosi and Senator Max Baucus.  The “60
Minutes” report aired has created “probable cause” that the insider
trading laws have been violated.
We the People demand that the President immediately instruct Attorney
General Holder to request a Special Prosecutor to investigate insider
trading by members of Congress.
We the People demand that the President immediately order Attorney
General Holder to file criminal charges against BP, Halliburton, and
any other contractors and sub-contractors involved in the Gulf Oil
Spill.  Sufficient probable cause for this action exists in the
engineering reports that were publicly released several months ago.
These actions are the first steps in restoring faith in government
and ending the venality and corruption of many members of Congress.
Failure to institute these actions will reinforce the impression that
our government is corrupt and refuses to change itself.  In order to
save our government, We the People demand that all members of
Congress, the President and the Supreme Court immediately comply with
our reasonable requests.
