Join us as we Awake The State on the opening day of the Florida
legislative session and fight back against Gov. Scott and his
extremist allies in the Legislature. If you've had enough of the
extreme attacks on our middle class, our public schools, health care,
our land and water, voting rights, and our civil rights, it's time to
Awake The State!

Please join us this Tuesday evening, January 10, 2011 ... Awake the
State Rally in Downtown Fort Myers !

Awake the State is a grassroots effort that came about last Spring. We
were looking for a way to network and wake up Floridians to the
devastating budget cuts and assaults on Florida's middle class,
teachers, firefighters, police, public employees... everyone. Last
year, our rallies in Cape Coral and Fort Myers gathered over 900
people. Statewide, the numbers were closer to 17,000. We are still
going strong !

Our next rally is this Tuesday, January 10th from 5:30 p - 7:30 p at
the Old Courthouse in Fort Myers. We are joining with Occupy Fort
Myers to host the rally. We have many speakers scheduled from our
education union (TALC/SPALC), the local Democratic Party, Charlotte
County teachers, Occupy Fort Myers, firefighters, public employees,
and some local politicians. I hope you will publicize the rally and
join us the evening of the 10th.

Thank you !
