Registration is now open for Sommergarten 2026!

Dear OWLA Members!

I wanted to let you know that early-bird registration for the Sommergarten 2026 Inaugural International Symposium is now open! This symposium will be presented by the Society for Research into Language and Culture Integrated Education (LCIE Society) and the theme of the two-part event is "Culture in Language Education: Interpersonal & Intellectual Developments." I will be delivering the online keynote talk (details here) on July 10, 2026, as well as hosting the in-person event at Cincinnati's Memorial Hall OTR on July 11, 2026. Details about our in-person plenary speaker, Dr. Virginia Wickline, can be found here: https://tinyurl.com/47r2zrsx.

All are welcome and please share with your colleagues and friends! If you've never been, Memorial Hall is quite a unique venue and located in the historic Over-the-Rhine neighborhood in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. For anyone who wants to participate, a "linguistic landscapes" tour will be given of interesting spots where different languages can be found, including where the centuries-old German language still endures and some of the incredible architecture that the city's immigrants have left us. (The tour is free to anyone who attends the in-person event and it will take place on Saturday evening, following the symposium. Spaces are limited.)
