Subject: Apply to the Villa Albertine grants before January 19!

Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday, I hope you are doing well.

We are getting back to you regarding the call for Applications for the K–12 programs (FDFL, FHLP, FWLP) for 2025–2026. As a reminder, applications are open until January 19.

There is also a call for Application for our yearly training program in French (FFA Summer Institute): https://villa-albertine.org/frenchculture/news/call-for-applications-the-french-for-all-summer-institute/

More specifically, regarding the French as a World Language Program (FWLP), I would like to share detailed information about the grants, and how they can be used:

  • Resources

Purchase of online teaching materials or books to support French instruction.

  • Cultural Activity

Any project or activity that helps develop students’ francophone cultural experience—whether in the classroom, in the library (creating a “Francophone space”), through the organization of French/francophone festivals, or during Francophonie Month celebrations.

  • DELF–DALF Certification

Registration fees for taking the DELF or DALF exams.

  • Projects within the Framework of an MoU / School Pairing

Implementation or creation of projects with an existing French partner school as part of an MoU or pairing. Please note that this grant does not fund school travel.

Examples of eligible funding include collaborative projects such as:

  • Pre- and post-exchange activities to strengthen students’ French skills;
  • Joint student projects  (bilingual blog, podcast, cultural portfolio) carried out with the partner school;
  • Lesson plans or teaching materials co-developed by French and American teachers;
  • Opportunities to share outcomes with other French programs in your district or region.

I remain at your disposal for any questions and would be delighted to discuss further with you.

Warm regards,

Caroline HOURDRY, PhD
