Dear OWLA ASL-Teaching Colleagues,

In collaboration with the Ohio World Language Association and Language Testing International (LTI), a virtual professional learning meetup for K-12 ASL educators will be offered on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. You can register here to learn about the new AAPPL for ASL assessment, which was recently added to the Department-approved list of world language proficiency assessments that can be used to qualify students for the Ohio Seal of Biliteracy. An LTI assessment specialist will lead the session, and ASL interpreters will be on hand during the meetup to provide interpretation for Deaf community members in attendance.

Please help us to get the word out to other Ohio ASL teachers in your networks who might benefit from attending this event and consider attending yourself to learn about this newest ASL proficiency assessment.

Many warm regards,
