2026 Inaugural Language & Culture Symposium in Cincinnati, Ohio

Dear OWLA educators!

 

My name is Jessica Downey and I am writing to share details about an upcoming symposium that may be of interest to you. The theme of this inaugural event is "Culture in Language Education: Interpersonal and Intellectual Developments," and it will take place online on July, 10, 2026, and in person on July 11, 2026 in Cincinnati, Ohio. We are currently seeking session proposals that engage with this theme and hope that you might consider sharing your experiences and expertise. All languages of instruction are welcome. 

Below, I have provided some important dates and links to additional information. I have also attached a flyer in case you'd like to share it with others you know who might be interested in presenting. If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to let me know!

October 1, 2025: Proposals are due

October 31, 2025: Authors will be notified of decisions on or before this date

November 1, 2025: Registration will open
