The first group are those that are for whatever reason unemployed. The
second group are employed, but are on low incomes.
Every aspect of our lives are controlled. When we wake in the morning,
we turn on the light, we have to pay for the energy needed to use that
light. Many would say you have a choice, because you can choose your
utility company. but what if you still want the energy, but dont see
why you should pay for the huge salaries of the fatcat businessmen at
the top of the company. We struggle to pay our electricity, gas and
water bills so that the people who run the companies can live in
excessive luxury.
You can change it!
We have the technology for domestic wind and solar power, as well as
Architecturally energy friendly designs we can make to our homes. Yes I
know, but that costs money too! The poorer sector find they cant afford
solar panels or wind turbines and are caught in the vicious cycle of
Capitalistic greed. That is why this group is here. Community action is
where we have our strength, so lets use it.
I would rather live in an organised eco friendly sustainable
settlement, where my energy needs are supplied by mother nature as are
my food needs, as are my housing needs as are my transport needs etc.
We do not need to live in dark, damp, energy inefficient homes on crime
ridden estates that the establishment charge us for the pleasure, but
do little to change. Why pay £65 a week for a piece of early death,
when you could live and enjoy a free'er sustainable life.
Sustainable living, does not have to mean living in the country. Its
perfectly viable in the city too.
Then theres the concept of wasting huge amounts of our lives commuting
to work and back. A nine mile trip to Glasgow and home during peak hour
takes me three hours both ways! Thats 32 and a half days a year. - just
travelling! We comply with time structures because they are controlled
by the people with money!
Those who work where they live dont suffer this loss. Communities can
live and work co-operatively without controlling each persons time
management.
This group can help you become more self sufficient, starting right
where you are!
You dont have to pay for electric and gas bills again.
You can cut your food bill substatially and some can completely
You can sell you extra supplies to provide for clothing (and that
gameboy game you've been wanting to get)
Refuse to rely on public transport and change the way your day is
structured.
Take your life back!
