Description:
The client seeks two Senior MicroStrategy report developer/analysts with client-facing
acumen in Herndon, VA.
These senior resources are required to analyze data and identify
opportunities to improve products as well as to evaluate the success of initiatives intended
to grow the product lines and reduce operational costs.
These resources must be familiar
with working with multiple data sets to codify enterprise metrics and reporting using SAS
and MicroStrategy.
They need to be familiar with terms like structured and unstructured
data, Enterprise Data Warehouse, Big Data, data visualization.
Using MicroStrategy,
developer/analyst is responsible for enhancing and supporting reports and report objects.
This may include analysis of requirements, design, implementation, testing, and support as
necessary.
These resources must develop requirements for various initiatives, manage the
technical aspects of these efforts, and integrate these new tools and measurement
frameworks into the existing Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW)/MicroStrategy
environment.
These resources must be personable and have experience interacting with
senior management.
Note: No remote work.
Resource must be available to work onsite in Herndon, VA.
Required Skills:
• Strong experience as a MicroStrategy developer (reports, metrics, filters, etc.) and
ability to identify the need for and then create ad hoc reports.
• Experience presenting to and interacting with senior management.
• Must have a working knowledge and documented experience in a variety of other
development environments including the following:
o Web HTML Development (e.g. Cold Fusion)
o SQL
o Teradata
o SAS
o Minitab.
• Ability to create and/or review MicroStrategy technical designs based on functional
requirements
• Ability to build and maintain MicroStrategy schema objects (attributes, facts,
hierarchies, tables, views, etc.) and public objects (metrics, filters, templates,
reports, dashboards, etc.)
• Ability to effectively interface with clients and other stakeholders to gather and
define functional requirements
• Ability to audit existing reporting and to troubleshoot discrepancies between
existing reporting systems.

• Experience working with a Relational Database using SQL
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Software Development Lifecycle experience (Waterfall or Agile)
Preferred Skills:
• Experience as a MicroStrategy architect (tables, attributes, facts, hierarchies, etc.)
• Knowledge of advanced MicroStrategy features (distribution services, transaction
services, mobile, etc.)
• Familiarity with MicroStrategy dashboard development
• Understanding of basic UI and UX principles
