MPD Makes Arrest in Pennsylvania Avenue Homicide
(Washington, D.C.) – The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest in a homicide that occurred in Southeast.
On Sunday, December 21, 2025, at approximately 6:03 a.m., Sixth District officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 2300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast. Officers located an adult male, unconscious and not breathing, suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. Despite all lifesaving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Dennis Ziegler, of Northeast, D.C.
On Tuesday, January 6, 2026, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 19-year-old Kevin William Dorsey Jr. of Northeast, DC. Dorsey Jr. was charged with Second Degree Murder While Armed.
