MPD Makes Arrest in Northeast Armed Offenses

  

(Washington, D.C.) – The Metropolitan Police Department announces an arrest of a suspect involved in two armed robberies and an armed carjacking in the Fifth District.

 

  • Armed Carjacking (Gun): On Thursday, March 13, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., the suspects approached the victim, who was inside of their parked vehicle, in the 1800 block of Varnum Street, Northeast. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The victim complied. The suspects took the victim’s property and vehicle then fled the scene. CCN: 25036418

On Thursday, October 9, 2025, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 20-year-old Damarco Jackson, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Armed Carjacking.

 

As a result of the detectives’ investigation, Jackson was additionally with the following offenses:

 

  • Armed Robbery (Gun): On Thursday, March 13, 2025, at approximately 5:50 p.m., the suspects’ vehicle knocked the victim from their bicycle in the 300 block of Oklahoma Avenue, Northeast. One of the suspects exited the vehicle, brandished a handgun, and demanded the victim’s property. The suspect then took the victim’s property and fled the scene in the vehicle. CCN: 25036407
  • Armed Robbery (Gun): On Thursday, March 13, 2025, at approximately 6:38 p.m., the suspect approached the victim at Oklahoma Avenue and E Street, Northeast. One of the suspects brandished a handgun, took property from the victim, and then fled the scene. CCN: 25036422

 

These cases remain under investigation by MPD’s Carjacking Taskforce, which comprises MPD detectives and agents of the FBI Washington Field Office. Multiple suspects remain outstanding. Anyone who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.
