Greetings to ALL & Happy New Year--2024!
I hope you all had a WONDERFUL and restful holiday season! I was able to get a little rest, but ONLY because I had some surgery a couple of weeks ago that forced me to do so...but its NOW time to GET BUSY!!! LOL!!
I am writing to invite you to be sure to plan to attend our next, Mini Commission monthly meeting, which will be held both in person as well as on Zoom on next Thursday, the 11th. As you know our meeting will be held at the 4th District Police Station, located at 6001 Georgia Avenue, NW, in the first floor Community Room. Our meeting time is 10am until 12noon.
Please refer to the attached meeting flyer that includes our Zoom connection information and all of the details, if needed.
You may know that January 2024 put us fully into the Washington, DC, campaign and election season. In keeping with this theme, our Guest Speakers in January will be: Robert White, Candidate for At-Large DC City Council. Mr. White currently holds one of the At-Large Councilmember positions. In addition, we will also hear from Lisa Gore, Candidate for Ward 4 DC Councilmember.
This is an excellent opportunity for you to come and talk to these candidates and ask your burning questions and inform them of any issues you may have, etc., on concerns that have been on your mind, that deal with your quality of life here in DC and in Ward 4.
One of the missions during this season for the Mini Commission is do what we can do to help you be fully informed as you prepare to vote in both the DC Primary and the General Elections this year, so we continue to invite any and all of the DC candidates and our Councilmembers to meet with us during our monthly meetings!
Please be sure to attend these important meetings. You will learn A LOT!
Enough of my sales pitch here! Please enjoy the rest of your week. I look forward to seeing you next Thursday!
Best,
Jocelynn Johnson, Chair
