The Metropolitan Police Department’s Second District staff are thrilled to announce an upcoming blood drive in support of Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC.

Due to COVID-19 and other variants, blood donations are down by 50% in the blood donor center at Children's Hospital. Currently there is a global shortage of whole blood and platelets throughout the region. Did you know that all blood collected will remain at Children's Hospital to support children with cancer, sickle cell disease, and other chronic illness? Did you know that just one unit can help 4-5 children at the hospital?

Please join the Metropolitan Police Department on Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 10:00am-3:00pm at 3320 Idaho Avenue, NW, Washington DC 20016, (Second District Station) as your Officers roll up their sleeves and donate.

We look forward to your support and the opportunity to give premature babies, trauma survivors, patients that need surgery or those with sickle cell, cancer or a blood disorder the much needed support of blood and platelet donations.
