The Metropolitan Police Department (Second District) is thrilled to announce an upcoming Blood Drive in support of Children’s National Hospital, in Washington DC.

Due to the pandemic and other variants, blood donations are down by 50% in the blood donor center at Children’s Hospital. Currently, there is a global shortage of whole blood and platelets throughout the region.

Did you know that one unit can help 4-5 children?

Please join the Metropolitan Police Department on Saturday October 7, 2023 from 10am-3pm at 3320 Idaho Avenue NW Washington DC 20016 (Second District Station) as your Officers roll up their sleeves and donate.

We look forward to your support and the opportunity to give premature babies, trauma survivors, patients that need surgery, or those with sickle cell, cancer or a blood disorder the much needed support of blood and platelet donations. To participate, please take a few moments to read the eligibility requirements, and then register to be a donor.
