The Metropolitan Police Department’s, Second District staff are thrilled to announce an upcoming blood drive in support of our Nations very own Children’s National Hospital.  As we continue to face emerging COVID variants, we’ve learned that blood donations to Children’s Hospital have dropped by as much as 60%! We’ve also learned that we are currently experiencing a region-wide shortage of whole blood and platelets.

Please join the Metropolitan Police Department on Saturday, June 18, 2022, from 10:00am-3:00pm at 3320 Idaho Avenue, NW, Washington DC 20016, (Second District Community Room) as your Officers roll up their sleeves and donate.

We look forward to your support and the opportunity to give premature babies, trauma survivors, patients that need surgery or those with sickle cell, cancer or a blood disorder the much needed support of blood and platelet donations. To participate, please take a few moments to read the eligibility requirements and then register to be a donor.

Register now or you may contact the blood donor center at 202-476-5437 to make an appointment.
