MPD Investigating Southeast Homicide
(Washington, D.C.) – The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a shooting death that occurred in Southeast.
On Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at approximately 5:34 p.m., Seventh District officers responded to the 1200 block of Valley Avenue, Southeast, for reports of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male who was unconscious and unresponsive, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS responded and after finding no signs consistent with life, the victim was pronounced dead.
The victim has been identified as 31-year-old Tyrone Kearney, of Southeast, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.
