Arrest Made in Armed Robbery (Gun) Offenses in the Fifth District

 

(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Fifth District announce an arrest has been made in reference to Armed Robbery (Gun) offenses in the Fifth District.

 

In each of the below offenses, the suspect(s) brandished a handgun and approached the victim, who was a construction worker, and demanded the victim’s property. The victim complied. The suspect(s) took the property then fled the scene. 

 

  • On Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at approximately 12:30 pm, in the 1200 block of Queen Street, Northeast. CCN: 22-188-109
  • On Thursday, December 29, 2022, at approximately 9:36 am, in the 1200 block of Oates Street, Northeast. CCN: 22-188-991
  • On Monday, April 17, 2023, at approximately 12:02 pm, in the 1200 block of Holbrook Terrace, Northeast. CCN: 23-059-745 
  • On Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at approximately 11:10 am, in the rear of the 1400 block of Montello Avenue, Northeast. CCN: 23-060-297
  • On Thursday, April 20, 2023, at approximately 2:54 pm, in the 1300 block of Trinidad Avenue, Northeast. CCN: 23-061-562
  • On Friday, April 21, 2023, at approximately 1:21 pm, in the 1300 block of Montello Avenue, Northeast. CCN: 23-062-081
  • On Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at approximately 12:57 pm, in the 1600 block of Trinidad Avenue, Northeast. CCN: 23-072-763
  • On Thursday, May 26, 2023, at approximately 1:00 pm, in the 1011 block of 4th Street, Northeast. CCN: 23-083-201
  • On Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at approximately 12:54 pm, in the 1300 block of Montello Avenue, Northeast. CCN: 23-085-528
  • On Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at approximately 1:50 pm, in the 1100 block of Owen Place, Northeast. CCN: 23-103-476

 

On Wednesday, June 28, 2023, 23-year-old Franco Jefferson Rawlings of a no fixed address, was arrested and charged in the above offenses. At the time of his arrest, a handgun was recovered.

 

These cases remain under investigation. Anyone who has knowledge of these offenses should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.
