Hi, Ron, (cc to all C1 officers)
I just received the email from Carol informing that we can't meet at her office on January 24th or 31st.
Here are a few suggestions for finding a substitute venue.
First, I suggest that we make things easier on ourselves and our potential hosts by trying for one meeting only, and give them the choice of hosting us on (pick one) either Tuesday, January 17th, 24th, or 31st. That might make things simpler.
Second, Laura Ingalls has visited Cap 1 twice in the last few months, and is very interested in starting a club at her office, World Education, at 1015
15th Street, NW. (that's at 15th and K, 3 brocks away) She has said that she has a conference room that could accommodate a meeting. I've forwarded her interest to District 36 officers and they are working with her, although nothing has happened yet. It occurred to me that we could fashion a win-win here, if we brought in a meeting that her staff could drop in on, and we could have a one-time home. Laura's email is
laura....@worldlearning.org, and her phone is
202-464-6973.
Third, there might be a conference room two blocks away at Wells Fargo. That's where member Natalya Warner works. 1401 H Street, NW. I know a senior officer at Wells Fargo named Jack Gocke. His email is
jack....@wellsfargo.com, and his phone is
202-772-4198. I'd be happy to contact either Laura or Jack, or you could contact them directly and use me name.
(You probably remember Laura from her visit.)
Further suggestions would be to ask other clubs in Area 32 whether they might like to host a dual meeting, if they'd be willing to host it.
In any case, please let me know.
