With identity theft on the rise the federal government recommends shredders as an identity theft deterrent. The 10-sheet Diamond Cross Cut Shredder will shred up to 10 sheets of paper, 1 CD/DVD, 1 credit card & 1 small size paper clip. Strip cut shredding is currently the most efficient way to shred a large volume of papers but the cut size is not secure enough for most consumers. The solution is a cross cut, utilizing the cost effectiveness of strip cut shredding while improving the cut size. This will be done by using a 2 step cutting system. The fist step strip cuts the paper into long strips while the second step strip cuts the paper into smaller cuts resembling cross cut shreds. This shredder will cross cut paper into small .28" x 2.09" (7.2mm x 53mm) diamond shaped confetti shreds and a shred rate of 6.4 feet per minute.
