dear friends,

It's going to be quite a weekend for Los Angeles history, on the dark side and the light.

This Friday, Grand Central Market turns 100, and we hope you'll join us at 10:30am as the mayor cuts a 100-layer cake, slices of which are free for all in attendance:

Saturday, Esotouric debuts our brand new crime bus tour, Wilshire Boulevard Death Trip, featuring 10,000 years of terror set among world-class art deco and fossil sites:

And on Sunday, join us in the basement of Grand Central Market for a free (with RSVP) LAVA Sunday Salon and walking tour about public art in the Civic Center:

We'd love to see YOU at some or all of these events.

If you'd like to be on the receiving end of more frequent email updates, you can sign up for the Esotouric weekly newsletter, packed with historic preservation and local history links and musings ( -- or tune in to You Can't Eat The Sunshine, just honored by L.A. Weekly as the Best Podcast about Los Angeles History ( If on Facebook, join the Los Angeles History Happenings group ( And you can virtually follow Esotouric's photographic adventures in the southland at
